About the Author

Mickey de Rham founded the White Mountain Animal League in 1989. She has been involved in animal welfare work for 40 years. Author Roger Caras encouraged her saying "spaying and neutering is the only way to addresss the horrific problem of overpopulation of pet animals".

About the Illustrator

Leigh Gusterson, orginally from New Jersey, is a plein air landscape painter in New Mexico. Her joy is to be outdoors painting the mountains, fields, adobe villages, old trucks and horses of Taos County.
